Monte Polizzo - excavation - 1999

Monte Polizzo - surface

White noise.

Cliff (McLucas) came with me to the excavations at Monte Polizzo (Sicily) in June/July 1999. He was fascinated with the way archaeology deals in uncanny empty spaces - or at least apparently empty. And by the way most archaeologists refuse ever to talk about the emptiness.

We spent several afternoons togther looking intently at the exposed surfaces for just what they are.
